LATEST UPDATE 14/04/2008!
We meet regularly as friends to walk and talk with our Cane Corso, we share different opinions and views which we like to discuss. We are all like minded when it comes to the Cane Corso being a versatile dog bred for different tasks so understandably do not all have to have the same measurements and angles. We would like you to come along and meet us and some of our dogs, we would also like to meet you and your dogs. If you are interested we will be meeting on the first Saturday of May and also the first Saturday of September. If you would like to come along email kenny@cane9corso.co.uk
My first sight of a Cane Corso was actually much earlier than I realised. At the age of 14
I was on holiday in Malta and at the time mad about Rottweilers , I was actually saving to buy one. Knowing little about dogs only that I was drawn to working breeds and the Rottweiler being a relatively new breed to the UK, I suppose it was understandable that I had mistaken the solid black dog which came to the beach every day and romped in the sea as I threw stones for him as the same breed. I was confused that the dog had no tan markings, cropped ears, a tail although docked which was much longer than the Rottweilers and a small white crest on the chest. My uneducated guess was, it was a Rottweiler with some faults but one I wanted to own ! I bought that Rottweiler she was a great dog who roamed the South London streets with my friends and I but more importantly I now own one of those solid black dogs with cropped ears, a longer tail and a white crest on the chest.
Puppies planned see our PLANNED LITTERS page.
The Cane Corso have been in this country since 1998 with experts popping up over night everywhere! The truth is, there are no experts as we have not been fortunate enough to have had the time with them (who has owned a Cane Corso puppy and seen it into its fading adult years?) None of us. Well not yet. I would like to start with thanks to Nino Lo'raso for my two female C.C Bedra and Diva. Two great dogs one grey one black. His wife Gee for putting up with our endless phone calls about this breed. We share a great passion for these dogs which have taken us on travels near and far, mostly far over England and Italy to aid in our knowledge of this medium to large working mastiff. Nino and his family have always made us welcome.
Thanks Paul Harris and his wife Karen. Nino put me in touch with Paul after extensive searching for a good stud for little Bedra. Paul was the owner of Vito the only male C.C other than Capo I felt suitable for Bedra. Capo being her sire was out of the question. Vito was the brother of a stunning black dog I had admired on the Internet, he was able to play a role later. Vito was a very athletic fawn dog with a great temprement. Paul and Karen have become great friends, his knowledge of the breed and breeding will be invaluable
