Traditionally the companion to the Cane Corso , the Red Volpino said to be virtually extinct is in fact alive and kicking in many working environments in the Molise Region of Italy. Dott Flavio Bruno of il Contado del Molise has several examples from different blood lines in his centre for the rescue of ancient Italian breeds. One example has been entrusted to myself in Ophelia and we recently returned to his centre to couple her with an old bloodline dog name Puglia.
We are expecting a litter late September and have great interest in from some equally interesting dog people. This will be the first litter born from a Traditional Volpino of the red variety in this country and although we are expecting a red litter there is a possibility of Black and also Grey due to the dogs in their recent history.
If you are interested in learning more about the Volpino or owning one please feel free to contact us as well as reading information provided on the site.
